Gidyup

A dear friend of mine believed it was time to find a convertible, don her overly large sunglasses and scarfs and drive two of her friends to the gulf for the day. How fantastically Wong Foo, with our the cross-dressing. I wasn't invited for the girls day out, but was still able to experience the thrill of the open road.

In the spirit of the day, I was offered a ride in this beast of all horses to plow down the streets of BR at night. We dropped the top and just drove. As we belted well-known musical tracts, we had to use the most appealing and appropriate of all. As Elphaba started her change monologue, I sang along with arms flowing with motion. As her climax rose, along with the speedometer, my body started to slide to try to break free of my constraining strap of safety. My arms stretched as far as they could go and I belted lyrics that will always be synonymous with flying. Free and unscathed from the world, I flew with a character that made me feel open and a tinge of happiness.

I love singing. I love my life.

Fast Moods

I've had several issues with my food choices lately. First off, I figured I haven't spent more than $100.00 in at least two months on groceries, collectively. Meaning, all the food I've been buying is from a restaurant and not the market like I should be. I really don't mind eating out but I love cooking! Plus some of the experiences I've had lately are horrific.

WW and I were pressed for time and needed a place to eat that was close to my work. I didn't really crave anything but I knew that I hadn't had Chinese in a while and there were a couple around the area. There was one right across the street. Although I've been told not to go there, it was closer the one that most of the employees purchase from. We walked in, ordered and began to sit down. And then I felt it. The floor in the dining room, if you wanted to call the small gathering of metal and plastic such, was so sticky. The chairs, the table, the floor. I was so disgusted. But we prevailed, vowing never to return. The food wasn't even that great-although we should have only ordered one thing because the portions were gi-normous!

My next tale happened in another fast food establishment, one that I am so proud to say I love! The amazing people who didn't invent the chicken, just the chicken sandwich! My story, though, isn't one of the amazing lemonade or the scrumptious waffle fries. No, no, my dear friends. It's a horror. But definitely could be found a little humorous. It all happened, in the bathroom. I sat on the toilet-fyi, I don't think many things are inappropriate-and began my business. I moved around a bit and heard a popping sound at the same time the seat shifted and something wet splashed against my leg. I thought, " dang it, I broke the seat and something fell into the toilet. " Upon later examining the situation, I discovered a mayonnaise packet had been strategically placed between the seat and the lid. At first I thought, "gross, it's all over my leg." but then, "That's such a great prank."

My last bite comes from our friend and neighbor, Chili's. Actually it's a general comment, but I realized it at Chili's. I would love to train servers. Wait staff in the BR area SUCK! I don't always go to chili's, I eat at other restaurants that are more classy than the ever popular baby back, but still...there's not much to it. You just have to learn to multi-task, deal with crap and kiss butt. I'll give 'em something to talk about!

Desti-knee or ankle

We left early-EARLY-on Saturday morning with 15-17 YSA campers, looking for a great need to relax, escape from life/work/the world and we all found a beautiful paradise of emerald colored water with white sand beaches, gorgeous/nearly perfect weather and a weekend of more than we could ask for!

My play on of words will lead into our trip to Destin, Florida. It was a great trip and really couldn't have gotten better. The "knee" part is an actual spelling of a the name Destiny; but leads into my sore foot. I really can't explain more, just thought it was a funny title.

I had a great time. The weather was beautiful, there were no bugs, I got a little sun; it was a great time. A great part of the trip ended with a sweet moment after a long walk with a dear friend.

Double the pleasure

Am I allowed to have double themed posts? K, great!

I guess this isn't really much of a theme as a declaration. Maybe that's the wrong word for it. Maybe Ouizer can help me out with my word choice. Anyway, I'm trying to either quote a movie or song in every post. I didn't do it one post so far, but it'll come fo' sho'!

Ok, so I'm riding home from work today and I can't believe how stupid people are. I know, road rage, blah blah blah. But seriously. My point is, when your entering an interstate-YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY! How can people not understand that. It's just assumed that I'm going to move my car over into on coming traffic so you can get on the interstate, uh-uh, RooD! So next time you're thinking, you want it that away, think again. This explosion ain't stopping. Now don't make me cuss!

Wally-world vs. the Target

You must really say Target as the French would. If you do not, please stop now and vow never to return again!

I went to Wal-mart today for the first time in a while. I'm sure I've been sometime in the past few months, but not nearly as much as I use to. It's a dirty place and the employees really aren't as great there as the beautiful read bulls-eye.

In Sam's defense, it's got some great prices and a variety of things that can't be found at target. They are a little more abundant in every day needs. Today, for instance, I found an AC adapter...couldn't find one at the competitor across the interstate. He's tried to make a great store and it really does appeal to low cost shoppers.

"On the other hand", Target is a great store. There are things there you can't find anywhere! And I've come to realize if I can't find them at Target, I'll just have to go somewhere else that specializes in that specific item to swipe my doggie faced card. Not that Wal-mart is that bad, Target is just that good.

Being in management, I've noticed that certain types of people are drawn to certain types of environments. Simply put, you won't find Target employees applying at Wal-mart.

To wrap this up, I'm glad there is a Target close to my house. Thank you Wal-mart for all you've done for me in the past. This isn't goodbye, just a simple see ya' later!

My reasoning

There are many things I could talk about on a daily basis, but usually they could be considered negative. I'll try my hardest to not overtake this blog with them but there will be occasional venting sessions and even worse...a sympathy plea or two. Please bare with me, I'm new and still want to be liked but more importantly, I want to be heard!

So, now that is out of the way, a friend of mine JP gave me some tips on blogging. Not so much tips as how I can blog but it was more of me eaves dropping on her blog and realizing some key points to make in my own. First off, use alternate names for the people in my life. This way, if someone comes here and finds someone's name-well let's just put it in one word I know well but don't always adhere to, confidentiality.

Today is the first day I'll post my blog address on a certain website that is for checking out faces through a sort of series of pages about people. I'm anxious to see what happens. I wanted to make sure I had a few entries before people read this. I didn't want to appear an amateur, which I'm sure I really can't avoid.

This one is long, I'm impressed. I'm still not sure about pictures yet..I'll have to venture out one step at a time. Thnx, Anne, for your inspiration!

Can I vent and be random?

"Of course you can!!!" FYI, I really love to use random quotes and if anyone would like to finish them or identify where they come from, it would make me happy!

Venting. . . I can't really believe that people think it's OK to belittle anyone, just because you are not happy with your life. Although this happens most often during this time; meaning when people are not happy with their life they feel it's most appropriate to take out this frustration on others, namely me. Just think before you react. It's not nice, not professional and definitely not appreciated by anyone to feel the wrath of anyone scorned.

Today I had a little thought about being positive. There are so many things to be positive about. It doesn't happen over night as much as a gradual process over time. It needs to be taken slowly and is definitely has to be a conscious effort. Being positive could even be a way to show faith in something.
